1. What is Custom Visibility?
Custom visibility allows you to restrict who can view a goal. When you create a goal with custom visibility, only the creator, owner, admin, or the specific departments and individuals you select will have access to view the goal. This ensures that goal visibility is controlled and limited to only those who need access
2. Open Define Goals Section
Click on the Define Goals option to begin creating and defining goals for your review cycle

3. Understanding Excluded Goals
When you open Define Goals, some goals appear under Excluded Goals. For certain goals the Include Goal button will be greyed out — this happens when the manager does not have visibility for that goal

4. Checking the Goal in the Goals Module
Go to the Goals module and open the goal that cannot be added. You will notice that it has Custom Visibility enabled, which restricts who can view the goal

5. Initiate Goal Editing
Click Edit on the goal to update its visibility settings. This will allow you to adjust who can access and review the goal

6. Editing Goal Visibility
After clicking Edit Goal, the goal editing interface will open. Scroll down to the Visibility section and click Edit

7. Visibility Options
Under Visibility, click Edit. You’ll see two options: Departments with Visibility which allows specific departments to view the goal. Individuals with Visibility which grants visibility to selected users

8. Updating Visibility
Add the manager of the goal owner (or any required individual/department) under visibility, then click Save

9. Confirm Changes
Save the updated goal so that the new visibility settings are applied

10. Goal Now Available for Review Cycle
Return to Define Goals. You will now see the option to include the goal in the review cycle, as the visibility requirement has been fulfilled

11. Changing Visibility to Include the Goal
If you do not want to manage custom visibility for a goal, you can change the visibility setting to Public or Private based on your preference. Once updated, the goal can be included in the review cycle, as the visibility restriction will no longer prevent it from being added
