5. Using “Align Goal to Parent Goal”

If you select Align Goal to Parent Goal, choose the parent goal your new goal will be associated with the basic difference is that Key Result to Parent Goal allows your goal’s progress to directly contribute to the parent goal, whereas Align Goal to Parent Goal only links the goal as a dependency and does not impact the parent goal’s progress

6. Create the Goal

After configuring alignments, click Create to save the goal with its alignment settings

7. Viewing Parent Alignment

If a goal is aligned to another, it will appear above the parent goal. Click on it to view the alignment details

8. Review Goal Alignment Details

Under Parent Alignment, you can see all the parent goals this goal is linked to. In the example, the first alignment is Key Result to Parent Goal, which means any progress made on the current goal will automatically update the first parent goal. The second alignment is Align Goal to Parent Goal, which only creates a connection, so progress on the current goal will not update the second parent goal
